Meet Our Team
Allie Hansen — Founder and Creative Director
Allie is the creator and visionary behind Puptrition. Her journey in canine nutrition began years ago and has been shaped by a lifetime of caring for animals, a deep interest in wellness, and a commitment to understanding how food choices influence long-term health.
Allie holds a degree in culinary arts and has a long-standing passion for nutrition, fresh food, and farm-to-table cooking. She has always believed in the power of whole ingredients and the importance of knowing where food comes from. Her love for healthy eating extends from her own kitchen to her garden, where she grows fresh herbs and produce with the same intention she brings to her cooking.
She has worked as an instructor, teaching healthy cooking to children and adults, helping people understand how simple, nourishing meals can support daily wellness. She has also worked as a personal chef, including preparing meals for dogs. This hands-on experience shaped her approach to food: simple, clean, and built on ingredients you can trust.
Liz Knox — Director of Technology & Product Development
Liz is the technical partner behind Puptrition. She is a self-taught developer with foundational studies in information technology and more than two decades of experience in deep-dive research, data verification, and structured problem-solving. Her early IT coursework introduced her to software, databases, web design, and programming, sparking a long-term passion for technology and practical digital solutions.
Before moving into app development, Liz spent years working in management and operations. Those roles strengthened her skills in leadership, organization, and user-focused decision-making. Today, she combines that experience with her technical background to build tools that are functional, intuitive, and genuinely helpful for everyday users.
Liz also runs several Instagram accounts, including a community-based page where she guides and supports pet creators. She enjoys helping others navigate the online pet community and has built meaningful relationships through her work there.
Liz and Allie met through the pet community on Instagram, brought together by their shared love of animals and interest in pet wellness. Their friendship grew naturally into a partnership, unified by a shared mission to create Puptrition and make canine nutrition clearer, kinder, and more accessible for dog parents everywhere.
